2010 International Convention in St. Louis
Enduring the Sustaining Presence of Alpha Kappa Alpha

The journey, which began on January 15, 1908—when nine visionary women at Howard University founded the first sorority of college-educated primarily African-American women—continues. Driven by its commitment to service and sisterhood, Alpha Kappa Alpha has evolved into one of the world's leading service organizations with 250,000 members in 975 chapters worldwide.

America's Center
From July 9-16, members will gather in St. Louis, MO, for the organization's 64th biennial international convention—known as Boulé—and work to achieve its business goals.
Extraordinary Supportive and Purposeful activities include:
- Welcoming the President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf—an Alpha Kappa Alpha member

- Forums on numerous topics, including leadership development, public policy, corporate board governance and post-undergraduate life
- Ecumenical service, in which members will Embrace such Spiritual Pastors as speaker Rev. Dr. Cynthia L. Hale

and participants Rev. Leslie Dowdell Cannon, Dr. Margarett Elaine M. Flake, Rev. Rosemarie Green, Rev. Carla Jo Howlett and Rev. Mignonne E.M. Snipes,
and featuring the award-winning
contemporary gospel duo Mary Mary.
