Make a Difference at CARE's Annual National Conference & Celebration

Raising awareness about the importance of empowering women & girls

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated members and chapters are invited to participate in the CARE National Conference and Celebration on May 5-6, in Washington, DC. During these two days of political action, learning and inspiration, participants will hear from top activists, lawmakers and speakers, including Wolf Blitzer and Gwen Ifill, and join with other AKAs and women's organizations from across the country at special events highlighting the importance of connecting the world's women in the fight against global poverty.

The conference will include hands-on training for promoting important issues on Capitol Hill, and in-person meetings with U.S. Senators and Representatives to educate them about why women's empowerment is important to our organization.

Members of Alpha Kappa Alpha, a CARE partner organization, will receive an extension of the early registration rate through mid-April, an invitation to special conference programs and a CARE "I Am Powerful" charm bracelet. Additionally, currently-enrolled students may receive a special student rate.
