President Blasts "New York Post" for Offensive Cartoon

Demands that decision makers be fired and apologize for insult

Alpha Kappa Alpha's international president, Barbara A. McKinzie, fired off a letter to New York Post owner Rupert Murdoch, in which she denounced the newspaper for running a cartoon that depicted President Barack Obama as a monkey being shot by two policemen. She characterized the cartoon as an insult and said such depictions only stoke the embers of those who are mentally fragile and harbor thoughts of harming the president.

The letter pointed out how the country has united behind the president and said the cartoon does not reflect the sentiment of the country.
