Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is comprised of over 250,000 college-trained women from around the world. It has an active membership of over 55,900 members who represent a diverse constituency of women, from educators to heads of state, politicians, lawyers, medical professionals, media personalities and decision-makers of major corporations. Graduate members constitute the largest percentage of membership.

Chapter Statistics

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was founded in 1908 at Howard University in Washington, DC as a college based-sorority, and incorporated in 1913 in Washington, DC. The first graduate chapter was established in Cleveland, Ohio in 1913.

Today Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is comprised of more than 950 chapters located in the United States, the Caribbean, Canada, Germany, Korea, and Japan.
